2/16th Austrailian Infantry Battalion, 21st Brigade, 7th Division A.I.F. raised in Perth in 1940. In 1942, it was the only West Australian unit on the Kokoda Track and fought the Gona campaign on the north coast of Papua. Lt. Alan Haddy died at Gona. Signed by author.
