Ernst Heinrich Roth lived from 1877 to 1948. He is a master luthier and owned a large and very successful violin-making shop in an East German town of Markneukirchen, Germany located near the border of today’s Czech Republic. After World War II, the workshop moved to Bubenreuth in the newly formed Federal Republic of Germany.
Roth Violins are part of a legacy of Roth family luthiers. Violins made in the Ernst Heinrich Roth workshop are highly sought after. These German instruments not only have beautiful workmanship but a powerful tone. The Roth workshop followed many different famous violin patterns including Stradivarius, Guarneri, Amati, and Ruggieri.
