Thirty classic motorbikes from the 1930s to the 1960s are illustrated here by Alan Puckett, an American noted for his skill as an artist specialising in depicting machines of this type. His full page paintings are complemented by close-up colour detail photographs taken by Warren Penney, an Australian equally well-known for his camera skills with action shots of motorcycle racing. Accompanying descriptive text is by Michael Robinson. This folio format publication brings the three aspects together to produce a magnificent collection of motorcycle memories. Machines from several countries are included, while classic British bikes from the period covered dominate the selection. Each of the 30 featured bikes is presented initially with a photograph of the manufacturer’s trade mark/logo, with the detail photos, plus text material, on the reverse and the motorcycle artwork occupying the full facing page. The text contains background notes on each machine, manufacturing date, technical data and any special features or notable achievements. pp. 127 colour illusts First Edition #0419 (Prev owner’s name on prelim.)
