First Edition. pp. 189 (no dustjacket, stain to front cover.) Scarce. Gimlet Lends a Hand, by W. E. Johns was published in November 1950 by Brockhampton Press. It was the sixth Gimlet book. The events in the book take place mainly in the south of France. Cub accepts a commission to attempt to rescue a kidnapped boy, the son of an American millionaire. The trail takes him to an isolated hilltop town in the south of France where, as it turned out, nobody was who he or she seemed to be.
