Australia’s Greatest Air Race

Announcement, House of Representatives, Melbourne, March 1919. “…the Commonwealth government has decided to offer £10,000 for the first successful flight to Australia from Great Britain, in a machine manned by Australians.” When this announcement was made, it inspired the greatest air race of all time.
