This volume contains excerpts from oral history interviews with past staff and student members held by the university archives and the Battye Library, as well as published sources, covering the first 75 years of the university’s life. It is not intended as a comprehensive history, rather as an evocation of the spirit of times past. It contains excerpts from the whole spectrum of people involved in university life: alumni, students, graduates administrative staff members, academic staff members; and technical staff members. It has endeavoured therefore to capture the full flavour of the university: its people; its grounds; and its buildings, and to illustrate both the administrative and academic endeavours which have been conducted within the university for the past 75 years. Most of the events described in this volume are either validated by the fact that other interviewees have mentioned them, or they are officially documented. pp. 112 illusts First Edition #0320/0820
