VINOLOGY VIGNERON WINE
While doing his residency at Royal Perth Hospital and King Edward Maternity Hospital, Dr Bill Pannell found a site on Metricup Road for Moss Wood – one of the region’s founding wineries. After finishing his residency, Bill and wife Sandra moved to Busselton in 1970. Their 1975 Moss Wood Cabernet Sauvignon, from six-year-old vines and the winery’s third vintage, was unquestionably the outstanding wine of the region’s first decade.
Picardy is an Australian winery at Pemberton, in the Pemberton wine region of Western Australia. It was established in 1993 by Dr. Bill Pannell, his wife Sandra and their son Daniel; Bill and Sandra Pannell had previously founded the pioneering Moss Wood winery in the Margaret River wine region in 1969.[1]
William Pannell is widely recognized as one of the founding fathers of Western Australian wine in the modern era
