Pioneer stock route between Perth and Geraldton. In the 1840’s the government sent expeditions in search of new grazing areas. The discovery of extensive grazing land and promising mineral deposits was reported 480 km to the north. Access was across barren scrub covered land with long waterless stretches and numerous toxic plants. How these problems were overcome and who solved them is the heart of this fascinating story.
