Dr Ern Manea is an icon of Bunbury, Western Australia. Born in Albany in 1926, he came to Bunbury in 1952. In addition to a distinguished career as a GP, Dr Manea was the City of Bunbury’s longest-surviving mayor and was at various times a patron or board member of over 300 community organisations. This book is the result of extensive interviews with Dr Ern Manea and his wife Beulah “Snookie” Manea and oral history tapes recorded by John Bannister for the Bunbury Historical Society Inc.
