This book is based on extensive research on the club’s own archives, newspapers of the period and transcripts of interviews with older club members. It goes further than a simple chronicle of the club’s development, to set events in the wider context of social and economic trends and the evolution of golf itself in Western Australia. Lake Karrinyup was established in 1927, joining several other golf clubs established in the 1920s. With the emergence of the business and professional class in Perth, golf rose in popularity.
