WEST AUSTRALIANA
This book follows Joseph Johns’ (Moondyne Joe) journey from his formative years in Wales, during a time of social change and disruption. He was a child of those times and a victim of it. His trial in Brecon is followed by an incarceration in Pentonville Gaol, then a period in Dartmoor prison, to his subsequent survival aboard two Thames hulks, Justitia and Defence, before his harrowing voyage to the Swan River aboard the Pyrenees, arriving 30 April 1853.
