In travelling through the fields one sees homes of canvas, homes of hessian, homes make of used filter press cloths, homes made of bags, buildings of sheet iron, buildings of galvanised iron, buildings of brick, buildings of adobe, buildings of stone, weather-board houses, log cabins that out to be in dells, but are not, edifices of lath and plaster, edifices of mattress wire and plaster, structures composed of bottles in a cement of sandstone and clay, huts formed of the sides of kerosene tins, and the humble leafy bush shelters of the aboriginal inhabitants of the country.
