WEST AUSTRALIANA Aboriginal Indigenous Biography Religion
A biography of the Reverend John Brown Gribble, sent by the Anglican Church to establish a mission for Aboriginals near Carnarvon. He was maligned and his every efforts destroyed by the pastoralists of the area who wish to continue exploiting the indigenous population. There is no doubt that Gribble was an eccentric, difficult man, but it is equally certain that the Church did not support him in the face of what amounted to bribes by the pastoralists.
