Examines a diverse and eclectic array of Australian locales (including Maralinga, cubby huts, video games and art galleries), and the often deliberately erased or marginalised connections contemporary Australia has with Indigenous antiquity. In an era of heightened territorialism and conflict, Halfway Houses seeks to re-conceptualise notions of house/home as a locus for poetic reverie and the celebration of human intimacy and imagination in contemporary popular culture.
