Local history the settlement of Warrnambool and Koroit area of western Victoria, as seen by Sarah Midgley and her cousin Richard Skilbeck. Sarah left with her family in 1851 from England and settled in the Warrnambool/Koroit area, all the while keeping a diary from the time of their departure. Richard Skilbeck followed his cousins seven years later and likewise kept a diary. It is from these two primary sources, plus other letters and descriptive notes from contemporary sources, that gives us a bird’s eye view of what it was like to be a settler in the early part of the 19th century. viii, [17] p. of plates, 208 p : ill., maps (lining-papers), ports ; 25 cm.
