The Allied submarine offensive during the Gallipoli campaign. This included th eRoyal Australian Navy (RAN) submarine AE2, which was commanded by the British Royal Navy’s Captain Henry Stoker, with a crew of 35 submariners. AE2 was the first Allied submarine to navigate the Dardanelles into the Sea of Marmara on the day of the Anzac landings at Gallipoli. It was sunk on 30 April 1915.
