The Tasmanian Tiger was a marsupial and member of the Dasyuridae family. Its closest relative is the Tasmanian Devil and the two species of quoll. Although known as the Tasmanian Tiger it was also called Tasmanian Wolf or Thylacine. By the 1930s numbers had decreased and they no longer existed on the mainland.
In this book , by now, it is time to get to the heart of the matter and relate, in the first instance, the circumstances in which this most remarkable of creatures came to claim its place among the fascinating wildlife of the Antipodes.
