AUSTRALIAN AGRICULTURE ARCHITECTURE PHOTOGRAPHY
Butcher took this portfolio of images of old sheds because they show the skill, ingenuity and resourcefulness of pervious generations of farmers.
The Australian Photographic Gallery is a series of books that explores the Australian landscape in all of its dimensions: natural, cultural and social.
Celebrating the talent and the passions of Australian photographers, it is highly individual yet accessible, inspiring and thought provoking. The first two titles in this new series feature the secret passions of two of Australia’s finest working documentary photographers, Melanie Faith Dove and Noel Butcher. And these are passions that are shared with many Australians – dogs, and old sheds.
Noel Butcher was for many years a Herald photographer. He has worked as a freelance photographer for The Age, Sunday Age, BRW, Financial Review, The Bulletin, and others. His now not-so-secret passion is photographing old sheds. He lives in Melbourne.
