The author’s experience as a Signalman in the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) during the Pacific Campaign against the Japanese during World War II. On Turning 17, he joined the Navy in 1942 and twas trained as a signalman at Flinders Naval Depot, after which he was allocated to merchant ships as a convoy signalman. His served throughout the war in the Pacific region. Around New Guinea he worked on the Taroona, HMAS Cerberus, Fleet Tanker Carelia. He was drafted to Darwin for a while and then was transferred to serve with the British Pacific Fleet. pp. 178 illusts Signed inscription by Author on fep. #0517
