ART PHOTOGRAPHY
Ernest Haas was a poet, a visionary and one of the great masters of photography. Finding employment early in his career as a photojournalist, ostensibly to make real pictures of the real world, Haas nevertheless infused each image with a special quality in wich reflections, motion and other abstract elements added a unique dimension to his work. He loved life, believing that ‘colour is joy’, and dedicated his mature art exclusively to a personal view of the world. His inspiring, innovative colour photographs are landmarks of the form. The result of that vision can bee seen here in 153 stunning colour images. This is the first full-scale retrospective of his work, from the 1950s to the mid-1980s, and most of the photographs reproduced have never before been published in book form.
